The EU Directive on the Protection of Whistleblowers (Directive (EU) 2019/1937) has required all European Member States to implement national whistleblower protection laws. All private organisations with more than 50 employees, as well as public sector organisations, are now required to set up internal reporting channels and a case management system to report and process legal compliance violations. In addition, external public reporting channels have been established across Europe to encourage potential whistleblowers as much as possible.
